EIME
EIME: LCA AND ECODESIGN SOFTWARE
Created in 1996, EIME is the Life Cycle Analysis software of LCIE Bureau Veritas.
It allows manufacturers to eco-design their products and services, and to produce communication media:
- Product environmental declarations (PEP ecopassport®, FDES, EPD® System, PEF/OEF)
- Self-declaration
- Environmental labelling
The software has two service offerings: EIME (user interface - web application) and EIME API (programming interface).
SOFTWARE ADAPTED TO TODAY'S CHALLENGES
As part of our program Future of LCA, LCIE Bureau Veritas developed the 6th version of EIME in 2023 to meet the following challenges:
- Cybersecurity
- Big data
- Traceability
In September 2024, a programming interface will be available (EIME API).
EIME DATABASES
EIME is provided with a multitude of life cycle inventory data sets. Each inventory data set has:
- A Life Cycle Inventory (LCI), an aggregated list of elementary input/output flows in Unit Process Black Box format (also called Cumulative Life Cycle Inventory)
- An environmental assessment (LCIA) according to the indicator sets included in EIME
- A documentation sheet in ILCD entry-level format
- A versioning system to track data updates and facilitate the updating of models
TWO COMPLEMENTARY USES
The EIME API license offers an opportunity to supervise the performance of LCA studies while generating files that can be used via the EIME license web interfaces.
The joint use of EIME & EIME API gives LCA practitioners new possibilities to study, analyze and eco-design their products.
