BV GREEN MARK PROCESS

Targeted audience

BV Green Mark Process is aimed at organizations wanting to communicate on the performance of their process*. This format is particularly recommended for organizations with a large product catalog.

The BV Mark protocol

Bureau Veritas has developed a certification protocol applicable to the Process of quantifying and reporting the environmental footprint of products (protocol based on ISO 14040/44 and ISO 9001). It can be applied to:

Product Environmental Declaration (EPD)
Carbon Footprint of a Product (CFP)
Water Footprint of a Product (WFP)

These technical rules define the requirements for establishing, implementing, monitoring and continuously improving the Product Environmental Footprint process (EFP). They complement the PCRs (Product Category Rules).

Certification

Our auditors are trained in Life Cycle Analysis methodologies (ISO 14040/44) and Quality Management System audits (ISO 9001).

The certification audit includes various control points including sample checks of the EPD, CFP or WFP carried out by the organization. Maintaining the certificate is conditional on the completion of a renewal audit.

The BV Green Mark certificate specifies the scope of the verified process.

*Communication at the process level does not replace a legal obligation for unit verification at the product level.
