Target audience

BV Green Mark Verified is aimed organizations wanting to communicate on the performance of their products (or services).

BV Mark protocols

Bureau Veritas has developed verification protocols related to the carbon footprint of products (or services):

Verification of the value of a carbon footprint, expressed in kg CO2 eq. (protocol based on ISO 14067)
Verification of a carbon footprint reduction, expressed in % (protocol based on ISO 14067)

These technical rules define the requirements for establishing and communicating the environmental footprint of products. They complement the PCRs (Product Category Rules).

Verification

Our verifiers are trained in Life Cycle Analysis methodologies (ISO 14040/44).

The verification includes different control points including the verification of the Life Cycle Analysis report used to establish the carbon footprint.

Maintaining the attestation is conditional on the completion of a renewal audit. The BV Green Mark certificate specifies the scope of the product (or service) checked.

IECQ RECOGNITION

In addition to BV Mark and to support our clients, we also propose IECQ Carbon Footprint of Product Statement in compliance with IECQ 03-01 and ISO/IEC 17029.

The recognition from IECQ is based as BV Mark on ISO 14067:2019 and LCIE has been audited by IECQ to ensure our compliance to this standard
