DATASET FORMAT
LIFE CYCLE INVENTORY (LCI)
The Life Cycle Inventories (LCI) available in EIME are an aggregated list of input/output flows in Unit Process Black Box format (also called Cumulative Life Cycle Inventory)*. These inventories vertically aggregate supply chain processes and horizontally aggregate processes producing the same intermediate outputs. The main categories of flows managed in EIME are:
- Elementary flows
- Air, water, and soil emissions
- Land use
- Resource extraction
- Energy flows
- Product flows
- Waste flows
The elementary streams used in EIME comply with the Reference Package EF 3.1 version EN 15804 (more than 94,000 items).
The provision of Life Cycle Inventories (LCI) is necessary to ensure compliance of EIME case studies with ISO 14040/44/67 standards.

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT (LCIA)
The environmental assessments (LCIA) available in EIME are categorized by indicator set (example: "Indicators for PEF EF 3.1 (Compliance PEP ed4, EN 15804+A2) v2.0").
The calculations are performed by EIME by combining the Life Cycle Inventory of each dataset with the characterization methods for each indicator.
The result displayed in EIME is calculated for 1 unit of the LCI dataset. In the example, the production of 1 liter of water involves:
- Carbon footprint (GWP): 2.51E-03 kg CO2 eq./liter of water
- Biogenic carbon footprint (GWP-b): 5.05E-06 kg CO2 eq./liter of water

DOCUMENTATION SHEET
Each LCI dataset has its own documentation sheet available in EIME.
The documentation format used by LCIE Bureau Veritas complies with the recommendations of the European Platform for Information and Communication Technologies (EPLCA) (ILCD data format).
You will find around 100 pieces of information per dataset classified according to the following 3 main sections:
- Process Information
- Modeling and Validation
- Administrative Information

DATASET TRACEABILITY
The traceability of each ICV dataset in EIME is based on the following elements:
- A dataset number (example: CODDE-2793)
- A universally unique identifier (example: e89d0a5f-149c-459e-9712-bfb7265410ab)
- A version number (example: 02.00.000)
- The following rule: "Each data modification is subject to a version upgrade." (example: from 02.00.000 to 03.00.000)

LCI MODEL
LCI datasets developed by LCIE Bureau Veritas are based on EIME case studies. These LCA models describe exchange flows before inventory aggregation.
You will find an illustration of one of these models.
For intellectual property reasons, access to these models is strictly reserved for LCIE Bureau Veritas.
