The 73rd Discussion Forum on Life Cycle Assessment took place on November 21, 2019 in Switzerland. Organized by the University of Zurich, this forum brought together the international scientific community around a key theme: digital transformation.
The increasing digitalisation causes changes in the environmental impact of our activities. A holistic life cycle assessment of digital transformation requires the assessment of information and communication technology (ICT) and takes into account possible substitution effects. This forum enabled the LCA community to learn about the different approaches to assessing digital transformation.
