ESPR and Energy Labelling Working Plan 2025-30

The European Commission published on April 15, 2025 the ESPR and energy labeling working plan for the period 2025-2030.

What to remember

ESPR and energy labelling facilitates consumer choice and encourages the take-up of more sustainable and energy-efficient products.

This work plan specifies the priority products for the work to be carried out by 2030.

For this first working plan, the priorities were set in the Regulation (Article 18) itself: iron and
steel; aluminium; textiles, in particular garments and footwear; furniture, including mattresses; tyres; detergents; paints; lubricants; chemicals; energy-related products and ICT products and
other electronics. However, the Regulation gives the Commission some discretion to omit some
of these products or to add new products, if it provides a justification.

This working plan will also contribute to the aims of the recently adopted Competitiveness Compass by helping to close the innovation gap and to boost competitiveness, decarbonisation and EU economic security.
