DATABASE CONTENT

ecoinvent database contains more than 23,000 LCI data sets including agriculture and livestock, building and construction, chemicals and plastics, energy, forestry and wood, textiles, transport, tourist accommodation, waste treatment and recycling, and water supply.

LCIE Bureau Veritas is registered at ecoinvent association as an official ecoinvent.

EIME will have ecoinvent 3.10 "Allocation, cut-off, EN 15804" database from the 1st quarter of 2025 in 2 formats: LCI or LCIA.

ECOINVENT EXPERTISE

ecoinvent a été fondée par les instituts de recherches suisses ETH, EPFL, Empa, Agroscope et l'Institut Paul Scherrer.

The first version of the ecoinvent database was released in 2003.

Subsequent updates and a major revision led to the release of version 2 in 2007, marking ecoinvent as the most widely used LCI database globally.

In 2013, ecoinvent became an independent, not-for-profit association, continuing its mission to provide high-quality data for environmental assessments globally and fostering the development of a transparent and trustworthy database for the LCA community.

Version 3, released in 2013, aimed to enhance the technological foundation and methodological base for global use, supporting regionalized data and ensuring consistency between different regions.

INDICATOR SETS

In EIME, ecoinvent 3.10 database "Allocation, cut-off, EN 15804" is accompanied by 1 indicator set. This set contains all the indicators necessary for the realization of Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in compliance with the standard EN 15804+A2:2019. This set includes:

  • Impact indicators based on the characterization factors established by the European Commission (method according to EF 3.1 EN 15804)
  • Inventory indicators as required by EN 15804 (methods according to ISO 21930)

COMPLIANCE & APPLICATIONS

ecoinvent 3.10 database "Allocation, cut-off, EN 15804" complies with the EN 15804+A2:2019 and ISO 21930 standards. It is intended for LCA practitioners wishing to produce Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) based on ISO 14025 and EF 3.1 version EN 15804.

Note : the structure by UPR (Unit Process) and the uncertainty assessment (Pedigree Matrix) defined by ecoinvent are not available in EIME.
